Texel reads the original HEIC resource through PhotoKit. The primary image is never routed through UIImage or re-encoded. HDR, EXIF, Styles, thumbnails, and the gain map stay in place.

Common questions

Does Texel modify the original?

No. The result is saved as a new photo through PhotoKit. The original asset is never modified, overwritten, or deleted.

Are Live Photos or RAW supported?

Not yet. Live Photo video, ProRAW, JPEG, and PNG are skipped with a clear reason.

Are photos uploaded?

No. Processing happens on device, and the developer runs no photo server. iCloud originals are downloaded by PhotoKit from Apple iCloud.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. Texel Pro is a one-time purchase with unlimited photos forever, and Restore Purchases is supported.

Why does the file SHA-256 change after saving?

The outer HEIC container and metadata change, so the whole-file hash must differ. Texel verifies that the primary-image payload matches item by item, and preserves HDR, EXIF, Styles, and thumbnails.
